The Ocean View Cottage

Drive to the cottage and park in the back between the house and the shed. Two vehicles can use the space. Walk up the stairs and you get the feeling of going into a tree house. The tall spruce trees there are very popular with a pair of eagles that like to sit and talk very loudly to each other. The deck wraps around three sides of the house.

Inside the kitchen was totally remodeled, the house built in the 1950’s has new appliances, electric stove, refrigerator and dishwasher. The upper open shelving has a collection of kitchen utensils and décor from the 1940s & 1950s. There are two stools for eating at the counter and the living room has a leather loveseat and chair. It is a cozy place to watch TV and enjoy the electric fireplace. We also have a bookshelf full of books, DVDs and magazines. Both bedrooms have queen size beds with extra linens and blankets.

The front bedroom has a view of the ocean and the back bedroom faces the lake and the rolling green grass. The vaulted ceiling makes this tiny house seem larger, the walls have pictures of old Kodiak with tall sailing ships in the harbor plus photos and paintings by local artists. The bathroom has a tub and shower combo. The laundry room is my favorite room, large washer and dryer are side-by-side so you have a surface to fold the towels while watching the boats come and go. Outside next to the shed is another patio with benches and table to dine when you use the gas grill. The shed is for the guest use to store things not needed every day and has a 7 cu. Ft. freezer.

Common Area

Our Common area for the three houses is the area behind the green shed, there we have a couple games set up: corn hole and badminton. This rolling green space is for every one join in and have fun.
